Hi, I’m Kristina Huffman
I am a UESCA Certified Ultrarunning Coach who enjoys helping people change their lives through pursuing their multi-stage ultrarunning or ultramarathon goals. I focus on designing personalized training programs tailored to each client’s unique goals, whether that means starting from ground zero in hopes of racing a first stage race or ultramarathon, enhancing endurance, or simply achieving a longtime life endurqnce goal.
I am also an airline pilot (B737 Captain) with a major US airline. Training for challenging endurance events while balancing work and life demands is not an easy task for athletes. My mision is to help athletes find the balance between training and life/work that keeps goals achievable. I started down the path to racing some of the most challenging foot races on the planet while flying a full roster crossing multiple time zones with a highly irregular schedule. Most standard training plans did not fit my lifestyle and were not easily adaptable. This led to my pursuit of knowledge which led to multiple coaching certifications. I now specialize in working with athletes who need highly customized plans, either due to life/work/training balance challenges or due to prior injury.

My Training Plan Philosophy
My goal in developing a training program is to customize each training plan to the client. Each client has unique needs when it comes to work demands and life responsibilities that often work best with a more custom approach to building a training program. This allows athletes to proceed at their own pace to reduce injury and focus on their own individual strengths and weaknesses. My programs extend beyond the standard run training and include an integrated approach of customized strength training, race logistics planning, and in depth discussions of gear, nutrition and every aspect of racing that leads to success.
Training begins with a comprehensive assessment and information gathering which helps form the foundation of training. Training is supported with biweekly coach calls that are designed to guide the training plan development, Training plans are delivered via TrainingPeaks on a weekly basis and are developed with your goals and progress in mind. Over the course of the training, we also focus on racing mindset strategies, gear selection, race nutrition planning, and overall race preparations. My mission is to instill a sense of confidence in your overall preparation that will leave you feeling ready come race day!
